The Warwick Senators hit back quickly from an opening night NBL1 West Women’s loss to win big on Saturday as Round 1 wrapped up with wins also for the East Perth Eagles and Willetton Tigers.
The first ever NBL1 West season got underway on Friday evening with the Joondalup Wolves beating the East Perth Eagles 76-55, the Mandurah Magic defeating the South West Slammers 100-49, the Cockburn Cougars downing the Rockingham Flames 85-78 and the Perth Redbacks winning on the road 95-78 against the Warwick Senators.
The action then resumed on Saturday evening in Round 1 with the Warwick Senators opening their account beating the South West Slammers 102-52 at Eaton Recreation Centre.
It was then a nail-biting affair at Herb Graham Recreation Centre between two teams backing up from playing on Friday with the East Perth Eagles getting their first NBL1 West 66-62 against the Mandurah Magic.
And then to wrap up the opening round in the first ever NBL1 West Women’s weekend, the Willetton Tigers had a night out on their home floor hammering the Lakeside Lightning 89-34.
