The Willetton Tigers have announced the signing of Australian representative and current member of the NBA Global Academy Hunter Clarke for the inaugural NBL1 West season in 2021.
Clarke, a 6”5 guard based in Canberra, has agreed to join the Tigers for the 2021 season and will add more flexibility and firepower to Willetton’s roster as preparations ramp up for the commencement of the new season.
“I’m excited to be entering such a competitive league which receives so much support from the community and it’s fans. I’m really looking forward to getting involved with Willetton on and off the floor as the club has been nothing but welcoming thus far,” Clarke said
Tigers coach Adam Nener is also excited to have Clarke on board.
“We are very excited to have a player such as Hunter join us at Willetton,” Nener said.
“He has spent the past few years with the NBA Global Academy at the Centre of Excellence in Canberra and recently represented Australia against the New Zealand Tall Blacks.
“We know that Hunter can play but we were more impressed with the conversations we had with him and the fact that he just wants to come in and help the team do well in any way he can.”
The Tigers start their NBL1 West season with a home game against local rivals Lakeside Lightning on the 17th of April at Willetton Stadium.
