WBA APPOINTS NEW BOARD MEMBERS
The Board of the Willetton Basketball Association (WBA) is very excited to advise that two new appointments have been made to the WBA Board (“Board”).
The first of the new appointments is Emma Gerovich, who has joined the Board as a casual vacancy appointment effective immediately. Emma’s background sees her bring a wealth of knowledge to the Board, including her experience in governance at National, State and Club sporting levels with a demonstrated skill set within high performance planning and management. Emma also has a very high level of understanding of not-for-profit and/or non-funded NSO’s being that Emma is a current board member and secretary of the Artistic Swimming Australia Inc. (ASAI), a position she has held for the past three (3) years.
Emma also currently holds a role as an advisory board member of the Supa Nova Synchronised Swimming Club, a position she has been in for the past 6 years, and she currently has 4 children who play basketball at various levels throughout WBA’s domestic, WABL and NBL1 programs. “Joining the current WBA Board is an honour and I am excited to be given the opportunity to tie many of my passions together in, and around, a game that my children and I love.”
The second of the appointments is Erin Blight, who joins WBA as an external board appointed member. Erin joins existing board member Adam Levin as our external appointed members, and we are really excited to have Erin share her impressive skill set and experience with WBA.
Professionally, Erin is a commercial lawyer with 20 years of experience working in firms in Melbourne and Perth. During her professional career to date, Erin has developed a very strong background in risk management through her various roles in the legal, banking and insurance sectors. Erin also has young children who play at a domestic basketball level within the WBA, and she will be a most valuable addition to the Board. “I’m delighted to be joining the Board of the WBA which is and has been a cornerstone of the Willetton neighborhood for decades. Having grown up in Willetton I’m appreciative of the opportunities and inclusiveness the WBA provides for local families. I’m looking forward to contributing to WBA’s continued growth and volunteering my time for the betterment of our local community.”
Per WBA Board Chair Cam Tovey, “We are absolutely thrilled to have Emma and Erin join the WBA Board. The bar continues to rise when it comes to the people who want to get involved at WBA and ensure we remain a Centre for Positive Impact. Both Emma and Erin integrated in seamlessly in our most recent board meeting, and it is very evident they will add tremendous value to WBA.”
The WBA Board and management would like to thank both Ivan Buzolic and Fiona Notley once again for their immense contributions to WBA.
