The Willetton Tigers are thrilled to welcome Michael Dupree to their program for the Mitsubishi Motors NBL1 West 2024 season.
Originally hailing from Tacoma, Washington, Dupree spent last year in Kalgoorlie where he played for the Giants in the NBL1 West. Here, Dupree won club MVP finishing the season with a stat line of 20.73 points, 3.59 rebounds and 3.55 assists with a FG% of 42.64% for the season.
His experience in the league was a big plus for Coach Adam Nener.
“Having a player like Michael joining the Tigers for season 2024 is great, he is familiar with the league having played in 2023 for the Giants and I am really looking forward to seeing his game go up another level”.
Dupree himself is excited for the challenge, and also to play at home in the Jungle after experiencing the incredible game night experience last year.
“I’m excited to join the Willetton Tigers this upcoming season. After playing against the Tigers last season, I can see they have a strong community and probably one of the best fan bases in the West so I want to be a part of that. I’m ready to show the community my skill set and I’m grateful to Willetton for allowing me the opportunity to continue my NBL1 career in 2024. Go Tigers!”
Prior to playing in the NBL1 West, Dupree attended Lower Colombia Community College before completing his final 2 years of college at Northwest University where he was named as an All-CCC player, averaging 13pts, 4reb, and 5ast.
After college, Dupree went on to play for the Seattle Mountaineers in the American Basketball Association, before heading out to Australia.
