Exciting Coaching Opportunity: Assistant Coach (NBL1 Women’s Program) & Head Coach (Under 21 Women’s WABL Team)

Are you passionate about basketball and ready to make a real impact? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Coach to join our NBL1 Women’s team. This is an exciting opportunity to assist with the NBL1 Women’s program and take the lead as the Head Coach of our Under 21 Women’s WABL team – a vital step on the pathway to NBL1.

What You’ll Do:

As Assistant Coach for the NBL1 Women’s program, you’ll work closely with the NBL1 Women’s Head Coach to help develop and support our players. You’ll be involved in the selection and development of our squad, ensuring players receive top-notch coaching both on and off the court. Your role will also include assisting with the planning and delivery of training sessions, tactical preparation, and game-day coaching.

In your role as Head Coach of the Under 21 Women’s WABL team, you’ll be responsible for leading and coaching a talented group of young players. You’ll align your coaching style with that of the NBL1 Women’s program, ensuring a seamless transition for players as they progress through the pathway to NBL1. Your influence will help shape their development, setting them up for success both in games and in their broader basketball careers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the selection and development of players in the NBL1 Women’s squad
  • Plan and deliver technical and tactical training sessions for the NBL1 program
  • Help evaluate individual player progress and team performance alongside the Head Coach
  • Coach and develop the Under 21 Women’s WABL team, ensuring alignment with the NBL1 playing style
  • Organize and execute training sessions, including game-day coaching
  • Contribute to the set-up and pack down of training equipment and drills

What We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking a coach with a passion for women’s basketball and a strong track record in coaching female teams. You should be able to deliver and implement technical and tactical plans to the highest standard, ensuring your players are well-prepared for competition. Your excellent communication skills and positive attitude will be essential in motivating and supporting both players and staff.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

  • Previous high-level coaching experience, preferably with female teams
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • A team-player mindset with the ability to motivate others
  • A professional demeanour
