The meaning behind the artwork is described by Dr Walley below;
The 8 small arches on the outer sections of the circles represent the people, including the coaches, support and management crew, spectators and community.
Moving in, the six circles represent the Nyoongar Six Seasons and being on Nyoongar Country.
The three inner circles are past, present and future. This is the history of the club, where they are today and where they’re heading in the future.
Moving in, the two outer circles are the two teams. The one circle in the centre represents the one game.
There are boomerangs (kylee). These represent offence and defence, as the kylee is an offensive and defensive tool and weapon.
The design represents standing on Nyoongar Country, and the competitive and community driven nature of the sport. The values of the game draw parallels to the ways of Nyoongar country, a place where the good of the collective takes precedence over the good of the individual.
